Apple iPhone 6 Plus could be bent, damaged

Although Apple’s products are traditionally well-made and every detail of their design is well-thought, from time to time the company releases devices that suffer from minor or major design issues that greatly affect their appeal or even durability. Apparently, this is the case with the iPhone 6 Plus.

While Apple made new iPhones considerably larger than their predecessors, it also made them significantly thinner. To do that, Apple probably had to reduce thickness of aluminum enclosure of its smartphones. While everything seems to be fine with the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus can be easily bent or damaged, given its huge sizes, reports Unbox Therapy.

According to the report, some customers bent their iPhones 6 Plus while holding them in their pockets. A video demonstrated by Unbox Therapy shows that the new smartphones can be relatively easily bent by hands and damaged.

Interestingly, when a similar thing was done to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the smartphone survived.

Back in the iPhone 5 days the Apple’s black smartphones suffered from scuffs and scratches. In 2012 the company said that the situation was expected and normal, given the fact that the iPhone 5 was made from anodized aluminum and then painted. In 2013 Apple replaced black colour option with space gray colour which did not suffer from similar problems.

Apple did not comment on the news-story.

KitGuru Says: It will be interesting to see what Apple advices its customers to do this time. If the phones can be easily damaged, Apple could run into troubles with necessity to replace them.
