Nintendo targets Steam with fresh DMCA strike to remove Dolphin Emulator

Nintendo has become increasingly concerned about emulation recently, with devices like the Steam Deck providing convenient ways for players to access old and new Nintendo content. Previously, Nintendo issued DMCA strikes against videos showcasing Steam Deck emulation, as well as a tool that allows people to add custom artworks to their Steam library. Now, Nintendo is issuing a DMCA takedown against Valve itself with the hopes of getting the Dolphin emulator booted from Steam.

Square Enix says it approached all major platforms for ‘offers’ for Final Fantasy 16

Last generation with Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix made a pretty big deal of supporting both PlayStation and Xbox consoles at launch. Fast forward a few years and now, Sony seems to have mainline Final Fantasy games on lockdown for PlayStation. In a recent interview, Square Enix explained its exclusivity approach, claiming to have contacted all platform holders at the start of development to get their 'offers'.

PC ports of PlayStation titles will launch 2-3 years after initial release

With the PS5 generation we have seen Sony take an interest in the PC gaming space, having ported a number of PlayStation exclusives to the platform in recent years. That said, unlike Microsoft, there has been an extended lag between when a game launches on PlayStation and its eventual PC release. Now, SIE CEO Jim Ryan has claimed that PC ports will release 2-3 years after their launch on PS5.

KitGuru Games: PlayStation Showcase Hopes and Fears

Following a long string of leaks and rumours Sony finally made its much-anticipated PlayStation Showcase official. Set to go live this Wednesday the 24th of May, the console manufacturer has promised over an hour of announcements “focusing on PS5 and PS VR2 games in development from top studios from around the world”. Steam now offering timed trials for games, starting with Dead Space

Steam has always been one of the most consumer-friendly platforms in gaming, with a relatively generous refund policy put in place for all potential purchases. That said, it seems as though Valve is testing out a new feature: free timed-trials for full releases. This can be seen with 2023’s Dead Space Remake – letting you now play the game for an hour and a half for free.

Call of Duty 2023 will be titled ‘Modern Warfare III’

The reboot of Modern Warfare back in 2019 was met with a great deal of praise, due to the game running on a highly updated engine and offering a solid campaign. Last year’s Modern Warfare II saw a drop in its critical reception for various reasons. Though it was previously announced that there would be no new COD game this year – instead being replaced by an expansion – this is no longer the case, with Call of Duty Modern Warfare III set to be officially announced later this year.
