Google celebrate Erwin Schrodinger

Google are celebrating the life of Austrian scientist Erwin Schrödinger with a Google doodle image. If he was still alive, he would be 127 today.

Schrödinger was a nobel prize winning physicist best known for his mind experiment known as Schrödinger's Cat. This was an equation that lies at the very heart of quantum mechanics.

He handled many other things however, including a focus on statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, dielectrics, general relativity and cosmology. He was born in Vienna on 12th August 1887 and died from tuberculosis in 1961 aged 73.

Google's Doodle cleverly replaces their letters with the Schrödinger's Cat equation. If you want to read more on Schrödinger's Cat, head over here.

Kitguru says: He was behind many fundamental results in the field of quantum theory.
