Live in the US? Now you too can pay for sponsored tweets

If you happen to live on that big blob of land across the pond from the KG HQ, then you can now take advantage of Twitter's tweet sponsoring program, where you pay a set fee in order to put your message in front of more people.

This is a scheme that Twitter has operated for some time now and has turned into a major money earner for the social networking firm. However this is the first time that average Joe citizen is able to use it, with Twitter announcing in a blog post that the scheme would no longer be invite only and was now open to all US users.

According to Twitter, it has also recently implemented some changes to the platform to make the UI easier to use and there have now been improvements made to the targeting and reporting parts of the tool. This should make it easier to get people that want to see your sponsored content to do so.
