Apple revise and reduce iPad Mini shipments for Q2

Apple are being forced to reduce their iPad mini shipments in Q2 to around 10 million. This information came from a source close to the company in Taipei last night. The source told me that the reduction could be up to 25% on month during Q2 and may continue to drop to 10 million by the end of the quarter.

Apple are planning to release the new iPad Mini in Q3 so they are lowering their shipments to factor this in. Additionally, the company are facing stiff competition from Android tablets which are growing substantially over the last year, particularly for Samsung.

Apple have also recalculated their shipments for iPad and iPad Mini in 2013 to 33 million and 55 million, respectively.

Kitguru says: Apple are facing stiff competition in 2013.
