Foxconn invest $10 billion in TFT-LCD plant

According to our sources in Taipei, Foxconn are going to invest $10 billion in Chengdu, China so that Chimei Innolux (CMI) can set up an advanced TFT-LCD panel production plant.

The $10 billion investment is going to be based around the production line in Chengdu and is going to feature an ‘all in one' base with LCD TV assembly, LED backlight production, LCD Module production and LED packaging and lighting sources.

A report on chinese website yicai.com details the development of an advanced LCD panel production plant and also says that there is a US$5 billion LCD panel project going on under the name of Qunkang Technology at the Chengdu production base, and Foxconn is understood to be the parent company of the LCD company.
