NZXT Tempest EVO review

Heading into this review I had some preconceived and even biased opinions.  I have become quite comfortable with the incredible SilverStone Raven 02 we have in our labs and for better or worse it has left me spoiled.

After using the Tempest EVO for several days I have been able to distance myself from the Raven 02 and concentrate on the NZXT product.  The cable routing is decent; the fans are not too loud and the cooling overall is very effective.

The blue LED lighting is subtle enough not to be intrusive and it allows the front of the chassis to exude an air of class. Negatively, while we like many aspects of the design we feel that the screwless mounting devices and cable routing could easily be improved in the future. Hopefully NZXT take our points on board and release a revision 2 in the not too distant future.

When weighing all factors the Tempest EVO is priced in the right ball park and earns our Worth Buying Award.  It is currently available in the UK for around the £85 mark which puts it in line with direct competition such as the Antec 900.

KitGuru says: Even if you have other chassis in mind for an upcoming build, be sure to shortlist this before dismissing because you might be pleasantly surprised.
