The unique design of the Raven 3 means that the power supply is slid in from the right side of the case and then locked in place from the left. This is a traditional locking mechanism featuring four screws. A short cable is then hooked into the power supply and this runs down the front of the chassis, to the outside for connection to an external cable.
On the right side of the Raven 3 there are various bays which can accommodate 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch drives. The centrally positioned bay is used for 2.5 inch drives and above we fitted an Intel 40GB SSD.
The bay then screws back into the main chassis as shown above. The same procedure works for larger 3.5 inch drives.
The two hard drive cages can be removed from the case to install more drives if needed, although you have to remove the the front panel to get at it.
Fitting the motherboard is a straightforward process and there is plenty of room to work inside, helping the build process.
We found the system installation to be really straightforward and it took us only half an hour to install the full system from scratch.
Cable routing is great, with the power supply leads feeding in from the right side of the case, behind the motherboard plate. Even if you are generally messy with cables, the Raven 3 will make it easy to create a clean looking system build.
