It would be remiss of our not to include any results from either the Intel Core i7 970 or 980X, after all they are Intel's high end ‘6 core processors'. To be fair, they are three times the price of the 1100T and it is therefore very hard to effectively evaluate them side by side. We don't work for either company however so we felt this was an interesting addition to the review, even if few people would be willing to spend over £700 on a processor.
On this page we will compare the AMD Phenom II against a reference clocked Intel Core i7 970 processor.
While the 1100T can hold onto the performance levels of the Core i7 950 in some of these tests, the 970 is considerably faster, even with the Crypography AES256 and SHA256 tests.
For rendering and video encoding, the Core i7 is a clear performance winner.
