AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Review – overclocking performance

For this series of tests, we compare both Intel Core i7 970 at 4ghz, against the AMD Phenom II X6 1110T at 4ghz. This would be an easily achieveable overclock with good cooling.

At 4ghz, the Intel Core i7 970 pulls away from the identically clocked AMD Phenom II x6 1110T. While the 1100T is able to outperform the Core i7 950 in the Cryptography benchmark, the Core i7 970 is significantly in the lead.

Again, the Core i7 970 at 4ghz is a literal rendering and encoding tour de force. To get things into perspective however, it is worth reiterating that the Core i7 970 is three times the price of the AMD X6 1100T.
