Yup, that’s how non-subtle this AMD advert is. It sees a typical gamer guy plugging in his new, green tinged, generic GPU into his PC and then tapping the space bar, because dammit, it’s not working. In walks the slick, 21st century version of Danny Zucko who tells him that the company he’s using *cough* Nvidia *cough* is so 2010; AMD do the real deal.
From then on Mr AMD Zucko hands over a new mid-range GPU and takes the green tinged card outside for some office space treatment. He then goes to town with a hammer, katana, chainsaw and eventually a leaf blower.
AMD is riding a wave of publicity at the moment due to its inclusion in both next-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, so the console angle is certainly there and as usual it’s very competitive in the bang for buck, but the performance crown still sits with Nvidia, especially with the single chip Titan.
KitGuru Says: So go on guys, who’s better Nvidia or AMD? I don’t really care as long as I get good value and performance – and it’s quiet.
