Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC Review

Batman Arkham Origins moved development away from series creators Rocksteady Studios, and is written by Corey May and Dooma Wendschuh. The game’s main storyline is set five years before that of 2009′s Batman: Arkham Asylum and follows a younger and less refined Batman who has a bounty placed on his head by crime lord Black Mask, drawing eight of the world’s greatest assassins to Gotham City on Christmas Eve. The game is presented from the third-person perspective with a primary focus on Batman’s combat and stealth abilities, detective skills, and gadgets that can be used in both combat and exploration. Arkham Origins is the first game in the series to feature multiplayer gameplay.

A very demanding game and its clear that it runs better on Nvidia hardware. The GTX780 Ti cards dominate this engine, forcing the AMD cards to the bottom of the chart. That said the AMD R9 290X and 290 still hold playable frame rates.

We seem to be in a renaissance of sorts when it comes to video games being adapted into other media. Following the likes of HBO’s The Last of Us, Peacock’s Twisted Metal and the Gran Turismo film, Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV show has released to a wave of praise. It therefore comes as no surprise that a second season has now been officially confirmed.

  1. Excellent looking card, but ih ave to say ‘gold stickers’? its that because they are the only company in the world to make gold coloured motherboards? blue and red and green would have been much better.

    Good card though

  2. I like ASUS GPU’s but they are always so expensive compared to other makes, this one seems priced ok, considering its a Ti, but the R9 290 is so much better value overall.

  3. I agree with Ben. I guess the best option taking into account the price quality ratio is the Asus R9 290X. It´s not much more expensive than the R9 290 and it´s much better:

It´s also over 100$ cheaper than Asus GTX780 Ti Direct CUII OC.

  4. The R9 290X may be cheaper than the 780 Ti, but it’s not the best of the best! Asus GTX 780 Ti Direct CUII OC = The best of the best!
