Sapphire HD5670 Flex Edition Review – low cost multiscreen productivity

We normally use Cyberlink MediaEspresso for our encoding duties, but we experienced some issues with this particular card. Today we are using ArcSoft Media Converter 7.

We are converting a 3.3GB 720P file inside an MKV container to the programs ‘automatic' iPad settings.

If ever we needed to see the advantages of hardware acceleration then look no further. With the Sapphire HD5670 handling some of the encoding the time reduces from just under 4 hours to 1 hour and 30 minutes, a huge saving. Obviously with more powerful processors the time difference will be less. The CPU was also never fully loaded with GFX H/W enabled (between 70 and 85 percent).
