Zotac GTX 465 Review: Full-on, affordable Fermi?

Aliens V Predator has proved to be a big seller since the release and Sega have taken the franchise into new territory after taking it from Sierra. AVP is a Direct X 11 supported title and delivers not only advanced shadow rendering but high quality tessellation for the cards on test today.

To test the cards we used a 1080p resolution with DX11, Texture Quality Very High, 16 af, ambient occulsion on, shadow complexity high, motion blur on.

The GTX465 manages to keep these demanding settings playable throughout with only a few minor dips into the 25fps zone. This is really a worst case scenario however and some tweaking of the graphics settings could raise the framerates to compensate. The HD5850 is the performance winner at these settings.

Analysing our minimum frame rate graph shows that the majority of the fps performance is around the 28-32 zone which is normally a comfortable area for smooth frame rates.
