Asus Rampage III Extreme Motherboard review

The new Core i7 CPUs are power efficient, but we soon fixed that by massively overclocking it while disabling the power saving features. We tested the system with reference clock settings then at our overclocked settings of 4.61ghz. We then loaded the system by running several benchmarks at the same time to load both CPU and GPU. External devices such as the monitor are not factored into our power draw measurement.

This shows how much the 980X processor can suck from the wall if you overclock it high and put it under extended load. If you want to use this machine to FOLD in the UK, be prepared for a pretty hefty quarterly electric bill.
