Enermax Modu87+ 700w PSU Review

The Enermax Modu87+ PSU arrives in a plain, yet alluring black and gold box with the output capacity of the unit on the bottom right corner.

The package inside is substantial, with multiple leaflets detailing various aspects of product literature. We always appreciate Enermax bundles, they supply everything you could ever want with their power supplies.

Seperating the individual packages. We have the PSU (doh), a storage pouch (for easy storage of left over cables you might not need), cable tidy, a UK power plug as well as a sticker, retention clip, mounting screws and all the modular cabling.

Enermax supply a manual with the unit, which is useful for inexperienced builders, and they also supply a product catalogue, if you need to expand your system build into other areas. We will be looking at their new, impressive fan range very shortly also.

Above are the modular cables supplied with the unit. There are as follows:

Enermax include a lovely little cable pouch which holds all the modular cables supplied. You will be using some of them however, but its nice to know the pouch can hold everything if you are ever moving system builds at a later date.

Bright enough for you? This is certainly for those who love the ‘in your face' colours, and others who feel it is perhaps a little gaudy. Me? I like it.

The paint quality is what I would expect from Enermax, beautifully finished throughout with attention to detail on every surface.

The more observant among you will already notice the incredible 12V capacity which totals 696W. You can basically drain all the power from the PSU into the 12V rails. Thats realistically an impossible situation mind you, but in theory quite impressive.

A quick look at the modular cable connectors on the front of the unit. Red are for PCI-E Cables and black are for peripherals. They are all connected to the 12V2 and 12V3 rails.

Hardwired connectors are all linked to the 12V1 line.
