ADATA XPG SX910 256GB SSD Review

The ADATA XPG SX910 256GB SSD ships in a blue and black box with the solid state drive visible behind a tough plastic window. The size and some specifications are listed alongside the unit.

The bundle includes a quick start guide, 3.5 inch adapter with mounting screws and a leaflet highlighting the download location for the free migration software.

The drive ships in a tough plastic chassis with the product name and size on the front. The rear of the chassis details the warranty code and serial number for Acronis True Image. Acronis is a fantastic software suite that I have used regularly in the past, ideal for mirroring an active drive in a system for easy, direct replacement.

The drive is held in place with 4 screws. Be aware, opening the chassis completely invalidates the warranty. The Sandforce 2281 controller takes centerstage.

The XPG SX910 uses sixteen Intel synchronous NAND Flash chips marked '29F16B08CCME2′.

When freshly formatted in Windows 7, the XPG SX910 shows 238GB free.
