OCUK Titan 300i Fiato 4.4ghz System Review

Rating: 8.0.

Overclockers have been one of the most successful UK technology retailers over the last decade. While they make their bread and butter with components, they also sell a wide range of systems configured and built in house for the discerning enthusiast user. Today we look at their Titan 350i Gelata system, based around the ever popular Core i5 3570k, overclocked to 4.4ghz.

Why would an enthusiast user want to buy a pre built system, rather than build his own from the ground up? While this may seem alien to a large audience who read Kitguru, there are some people who just don't get the time, or who want warranty support for the components.

In this regard, Overclockers seem to be in a strong position. They have a 24 month collect and return warranty system, with extended options available at extra cost. Every system they send out to a customer has underwent an 8 hour stress test for quality control. They say each system is assembled from handpicked components for compatibility and stability and that they are ‘precision built and cabled by Overclockers UK expert technicians'.

The basic system pricing starts at £832.99 inc vat (without operating system), although if you visit the Configurator on their website, the pricing can increase, especially if you upgrade the video card.

We dont understand the ‘Titan' naming convention, as we would expect the high end Nvidia graphics card to be a key component, or at least an extra option … but it isn't.
