Hi. Please can we have some extra details on this?Do KitGuru need a screenshot as well as the CPU-Z validation file? If so, what information needs to be in it?

Do users need to provide a picture of their rig to prove they are using air?

Will there be a public leaderboard for the qualification stage?

Are there any restrictions on who can enter? (employees of XYZ for example)

Please can you confirm that the highest % is what matters, not raw MHz?

Let me answer your questions .....

1. Just screenshot of CPU-Z file
2. Picture of the rig should be provided only if requested by ASUS
3. There will be no leader board however we will publish results of finals that will be held on 18th February 2012.

4. That is correct , highest % is what matter during qualification stage, not raw MHz.

Will participants know that KitGuru have received the qualification entry and it is a valid one? The way things stand at the moment, everyone is overclocking "blind" and then 12 people are picked at the end of it.

Once we receive all entries we will go through results and select 12 top results .
If one of the entries is not valid we will remove it and pick next best one .
Winners will be announced on Thursday 9th February and invitations will be sent out on this day at 10am. If applicants do not reply and confirm attendance within 24 hours (Friday 10th February at 10am) then their invitation will be void and they will be replaced with an applicant who received the next best score.

I am new here so have zero clout but i'm gonna ask anyway....

please would you consider adjusting this part of the competition.

If no-one knows what they're up against, what is the incentive to make a good result? If I push hard for another 5% OC, will it make all the difference in the world, or none? A public leaderboard will tell me that.

A leaderboard will also tell me that A/ the result was received and B/ it's valid. If a result is NOT valid.... will I be notified so I can re-do it, get it right and re-submit?

An official leaderboard might also make the competition entertaining for non-participants to watch unfold.


All of this is in the PR and traffic benefit of both Asus and KitGuru.....

Well no offense, but this competition is not great. I live in UK and wont enter. im not traveling across the island to get to one location at my own cost. Would cost me £100 to get there and back, for what?

Nice idea, but its all poorly executed. Id say 0.1% of people have a chance to enter, unless they want to spend a lot of money traveling and getting to whereever it is being held.
