Recently a colleague had to spend some time looking for a way to get out of the UEFI fast-boot mode on a customers brand new Asus laptop that needed some adjustments in the BIOS settings(this fast-boot mode skips through the BIOS). The method was about what the article describes above, something that even Asus' support was unaware of. Good times...
