AMD no longer supporting Gaming Evolved Raptr app

Over the last couple of years, AMD users have likely had an encounter or two with Raptr's ‘Gaming Evolved' app. At one point it was AMD's answer to the GeForce Experience, with the app being bundled with every driver update. However, it looks like AMD is moving on from Raptr's app and will no longer be providing support or bundling it with new versions of Radeon Software.

The Raptr Gaming Evolved app was a game-launcher/social network hybrid. It allowed AMD users to scan their systems for games and press an easy ‘optimise' button to have graphical settings adjusted for specific hardware.

AMD hasn't really explained why this is happening, but a rep for the company did offer the following statement to wccftech:

“Starting September 12th 2016, AMD is no longer bundling the “AMD Gaming Evolved App” by Raptr with builds of Radeon Software. The application will still work. AMD will cease to undertake any compatibility testing, install support or general technical support for this application, nor will it be available through Radeon Software or its installer. Previous builds of Radeon Software that include the “AMD Gaming Evolved App” dated before September 12th 2016 will remain intact and will not be affected.”

KitGuru Says: As someone who regularly needs to install drivers and swap out graphics cards for benchmarking, I always found Raptr to be a bit of a pain to avoid when updating. Did any of you guys regularly use the Raptr Gaming app? Will you continue to use it now that AMD has dropped support?
