Kevin Smith is in CoD’s next Zombie DLC update

Rave in the Redwoods is the next update to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's zombie mode, taking players into a '90s themed, drug fuelled, raving forest party with a lot of the undead. It also features new weapons, characters and… Kevin Smith of all people. The Clerks and Zack and Miri director makes an appearance right at the end of the latest trailer, with his trademark hockey jersey and everything.

Call of Duty has been making use of celebrity cameos for a while now, hauling in the likes of Kevin Spacey, John Malkovich and Jeff Goldblum to name but a few. In the latest game alone, we've had Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington and UFC star, Conor McGregor, but now Kevin Smith will join that all star lineup, helping players take down the undead in the new zombie update.

It's not entirely clear from the trailer what role Smith will play, though it seems that for some reason he'll be showing up at a point in the zombie campaign and aiding with the incessant slaughter of the shamblers. He makes his big entrance at the end of the trailer, wearing what Kevin Smith seems to always be wearing.

It's definitely Kevin Smith too, and not Silent Bob, as there's not a trench coat in sight and he actually speaks.

While Smith might be a little new to the whole running and gunning lark, he does have some experience directing the killing of Nazi sausages, so perhaps that could help out in some way?

KitGuru Says: While I don't doubt Smith has some snappy dialogue in his time fighting the zombies, if he doesn't tell the players that he's not even supposed to be there today, I'll be disappointed.
