Call of Duty: WWII’s full worldwide reveal is happening right now

Update: Following last month's extensive leak, Activision made Call of Duty: WWII official last week. This will be the game's official title and SledgeHammer Games is behind its development. Now after a brief wait, the Call of Duty: WWII livestream is taking place right here, during which campaign, multiplayer and general gameplay details will be unveiled:

As you can see in the image above, there will be a full reveal livestream in five days time, during which we will likely see a trailer and hopefully some gameplay.

Original Story: Earlier this year, Activision admitted that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare did not resonate with fans. Infinity Ward's latest effort was poorly received by most fans of the franchise and appears to have caused a surge in popularity for Battlefield. Since then, it looks like the publisher has reassessed the situation as this year's Call of Duty will reportedly take things back to World War II.

In a leak this weekend, a YouTuber managed to get hold of what appears to be steelbook art and the cover for the main game. Judging by the images, this year's Call of Duty will simply be known as ‘Call of Duty: WWII'.

There are four different steelbook concept images in the video but for now, everything could be considered as ‘placeholder'. These might not be the final designs and the game's title could change by the time the official announcement rolls around.

These leaks are standard affair for the Call of Duty franchise though. Each year, Activision usually plans its name and concept reveal for early Q2, with a gameplay reveal following a little later on. With that in mind, we can probably expect an official announcement from Activision sometime in the next month or so.

KitGuru Says: Given the poor fan reaction that Infinite Warfare received, this seems like the best direction for the series to go. However, we don't know for sure how legitimate this leak is, so things could change. Do you guys think Call of Duty should go back to World War II at this point? For me personally, this reveal would have been much more surprising last year but following Infinite Warfare, it feels expected.
