Dark Souls 3 has a release date in Japan

Dark Souls 3 is on the way, with many having already seen and played the game at trade shows this year. However, now we have our first release date for the game, though it only applies to Japan for now. Dark Souls 3 is set to launch on the 24th of March 2016 for the Xbox One and PS4, according to a tweet on From Software's Japanese Twitter.

It's always a little weird to see staggered release dates for titles these days, particularly with digital sales on the rise. However, From Software has yet to speak out on an international release date.

In addition to having no release date for countries outside of Japan, we also don't have a release date for the PC version of the game. The Japanese date we have currently only applies to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Presumably, the game will launch in late March/early April for those outside of Japan, though we don't have any confirmation yet. Maybe From Software will shed some light on this soon.
