Star Wars Battlefront Beta to arrive in October

Star Wars Battlefront is finally launching at the end of this year, though there are still plenty of people who have yet to get their hands on it. Fortunately, that may change soon as the Battlefront beta is apparently arriving in October on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

DICE has said that the beta will include the Walker Assault map, which will see two 20-player teams face off against each other. There will also be a mission on Tatooine. We have already seen both of these missions from alpha gameplay, so DICE is also throwing something new in. The third game mode playable in the beta is called Drop Zone, though details surrounding it have not been revealed.

As with most betas, your progress won't transfer to the final game. We don't even have an exact date yet but it is due out ‘early October' and will probably last for around a week. Hopefully this will be an open beta as well, so more people can get their hands on the game before its release in November.

KitGuru Says: I find it a little worrying that DICE is launching the Battlefront beta just over a month before its planned release. Hopefully DICE has enough time to ensure a smooth launch as it seems pretty clear that EA wants this game launch to coincide with the new Star Wars movie in December.
