iPhone 5 clone company threatens legal action against Apple

While Tim Cook and his men prepare for the next iPhone press event held next week, his lawyers may have another case to prepare if the new iPhone is released in China. GooPhone has produced an Android device called the i5 and designed around leaked iPhone 5 prototypes. The important part is that claim to have patented the design in China.

This move by the Chinese cloner, who also has Samsung Galaxy S III clones for sale, could prevent sales of the new iPhone in China if Apple chooses to retail the device there. The real iPhone from the Cupertino based Apple will more than likely be unveiled at the company's press event on September 12.

KitGuru says: If GooPhone's claims are correct then Apple could be in for some more legal headaches outside of the United States.
