Nokia launches Here Maps onto iOS

Last week Nokia announced its Here Maps initiative, a cross-platform mapping solution that has today arrived for Apple iOS devices. Nokia Here Maps will make “you feel like a local wherever you go” with traffic and public transport overlays and voice guided navigation.

You also have the option to download an area as an offline map, however this cap is limited to 10 MB so the larger the area selected, the less detail will be stored. There is data in Nokia's database for over 200 countries.

The Verge reports that while it is a little dated in terms of looks, it does compare nicely to Apple's integrated Maps in iOS 6 in areas.

Nokia Here Maps is available on iPhone and iPad for absolutely nothing and can be found here.

KitGuru says: Inital reviews are hinting at the fact people are still awaiting an standalone mapping solution from Google.
