Amazon planning 10.1 inch Kindle for Q3

Amazon may have been shrinking the size of their Kindle e-reading devices, but it looks as if they are planning to make the Kindle Fire tablet larger, later this year. According to the latest rumours it would appear that they are planning to release a 10.1 inch Kindle Fire in the third quarter.

The sources also indicate they Amazon may phase out the older 8.9 inch model at the same time, making way for the bigger unit. The same insiders claim that Amazon are keen to target the Apple iPad by releasing the larger tablet although no confirmed specifications have yet been made public.

Kitguru says: Amazon are expected to ship between 30 and 40 million tablet PCs this year.
