The Mercia Laptop is supplied with a 3,800 mAh battery which has been cleverly built into the chassis design rather than protruding out the back. We set the brightness at a mid way point and left Wi-Fi enabled. We tested performing general duties, such as checking email, using Microsoft Office, surfing the net and chatting online. We then played a 1080P movie via the internal screen to measure performance under a more continual load.
Battery life is not particularly impressive, with around 90 minutes under general use. When watching a movie as the image shows above, we scraped just under 1 hour before the system had to shut down. A second battery would be a good option if you need to work a lot on the move.
