Adam Elements iKlips Review

iKlips Box 1iKlips Box 2

The Adam Elements iKlips is a straightforward USB stick, but the packaging at least is relatively creative. It comes in a bright red box listing many of the features offered by the hardware and software, such as backup, the dual-function USB/Lightning connectors and media playback.

iKlips Accessories

The unit comes in foam packaging with a felt grey carry pouch and a user manual.

iKlips Unit 1iKlips Unit 2

The ‘iKlips' brand name comes from a metal clip attached to the side. Its designed to compliment the internal storage on your iOS device, providing additional space for extra media (on a long flight, perhaps) so the idea is that you keep the iKlips on you at all times, maybe attached to a belt or inside a bag.

Each end has white removable rubber protectors. These are not secured to the unit in any way, so we can imagine them getting easily lost.

iKlips Unit 3

The clip is embossed with the company logo on the side, that shows up nicely under light.

iKlips USB

As explained, a USB 3 connector is at one end of the iKlips.

iKlips Lightning

And a Lighting connector is on the other. One obvious point to make is that the iKlips will only work with iPhones and iPads (and iPod Touch devices) that have a Lightning connector, so is incompatible with the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and so on.

iKlips connected

The iKlips connects to the bottom of an iOS device, as you would assume.
