Apple quietly refreshes Retina Macbook Pro lineup

Earlier today the Apple Store went down for a few minutes, which is usually a telltale sign that the company is about to update a product lineup. Once the Apple Store came back online we were greeted with upgraded Retina Macbook Pro's featuring updated Intel CPU's and more RAM.

The entry level 13 Inch Macbook now comes with a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 CPU and 8GB of RAM, which is a small upgrade from the 2.4 GHz Core i5 and 4GB of RAM that was previously used. The $100 more expensive 13 inch Macbook Pro comes with a 2.8 GHz Core i5 and the same 8GB of RAM as the cheaper model.

Both 15 Inch models come with 16GB of RAM now, the slightly cheaper model comes with a 2.2 GHz Core i7 CPU while the more expensive one comes equipped with a 2.5 GHz Core i7.

Apple recently cut the price of its Macbook Air models but hasn't continued the trend with its new Macbook Pro's. The base line 13 Inch laptop is priced at £999, with the two more expensive models coming in at £1,199 and £1,399. The 15 Inch Macbook Pro's cost £1,599 and £1,999, respectively.

KitGuru Says: I still use my entry level 2011 Macbook Pro but I'm itching for an upgrade, any of these new models would be a pretty big bump in specs. Do any of you guys use a Macbook Pro? Are any of you looking to upgrade from an older model like I am?
