Nokia begins Windows Phone 7.8 rollout

As we expected it to, Windows Phone 7.8 is now rolling out to existing Windows Phone 7.x users. Nokia has announced that the update will start to rollout today to the Lumia 510, Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900.

The updates are dependent on carriers and given early reports all of them appear to be on top of their game. Please note that the update is gradual and is not yet available to every handset; that feat should be accomplished by the end of February. Users will also have to connect their phones to their Zune-equipped PC in order to update to Windows Phone 7.8.

The main new features include the new resizable live tiles, the removal of the  black space that was formerly on the right hand side of the tiles, more colour themes and the option to use Bing’s image of the day as your lockscreen.

KitGuru says: While it may not sound like a lot, it should win over existing users until their next smartphone upgrade.
