We placed a diode on the heatsink to measure system temperatures. We left the machine idling for an hour and recorded the results, we then watched a 1080p MKV movie and recorded the temperature, after 60 minutes.
Room temperature was maintained at 24c.
This is a passively cooled unit and the CPU temperatures varied between 49c and 63c, impressive results.
We measured system power at the socket when viewing a 720p MKV video file.
The VEOLO demands between 6 and 10 watts of power, hovering around 8 watts when viewing video files. This is an incredible result and one that will appeal to a wide audience who are trying to watch their energy use. My media center at home requires around 60-70 watts for the same task (low end Intel/Windows build).
