Cooler Master launches MasterMouse S and S Lite

Back in August 2016, we saw the launch of the Cooler Master ‘MasterMouse', which aimed to provide users with more choice in their gaming peripherals with swappable body covers. This year, the MasterMouse range is expanding with the MasterMouse S and MasterMouse Lite S, two small, elegant gaming mice with sensible DPI levels and RGB lighting at an affordable price.

The MasterMouse S and MasterMouse Lite S join the MasterMouse Pro L, which we reviewed last year. The MasterMouse S uses a PixArt PMW3330 optical sensor, which is capable of hitting a maximum sensitivity of 7200 DPI, You can set up four different levels of sensitivity from between 400 and 7200. The body offers six buttons, five of which can be customised with secondary functions which can be activated using the Storm TactiX button.

The more affordable MasterMouse S Lite looks the same as the non-lite version, with most of the changes happening under the hood. The Lite comes with a simpler, scaled down feature set and weighs in at just 86 grams. It has LED illumination in two zones and uses a PixArt PAW3509 sensor capable of up to 2000 DPI.

The MasterMouse S and MasterMouse Lite S are due to go on sale by the end of the month with the former costing £34.99 and the latter costing £19.99.

KitGuru Says: I quite liked the time I spent with the MasterMouse Pro L, so if Cooler Master can deliver similar quality with these scaled down versions, then they could turn out to be fairly good offerings. Are any of you currently looking to buy a new mouse in 2017?
