The SteelSeries Sensei [RAW] ships in small black box with a clear image of the mouse on the front in its illuminated state.
The back of the box lists some of its key features and a small diagram relating the information to specific buttons on the mouse.
Opening the flap we are presented with some background information on why SteelSeries has chosen to release the Sensei [RAW].
We can also clearly see the mouse, protected by molded plastic.
The box contains the mouse, a quick start guide and a SteelSeries sticker. There is no installation CD. Instead, the SteelSeries Engine will need to be downloaded to customize the mouse.
We received the glossy version of the Sensei [RAW]. With the exception of the sides and the middle section containing the scroll wheel, the entire mouse has received an even glossy finish. The cable has received a rubberized coating.
Moving to the right side of the mouse we can clearly see the two buttons on the side. These buttons serve as thumb buttons for left-handed users, whilst right-handed users can use their ring finger or little finger.
As this is an ambidextrous mouse the left side is identical.
The scroll wheel has a soft rubber surface and lights up blue after connecting the mouse. Behind the scroll wheel there is an LED to indicate the current DPI setting, as well as a single button to change the DPI settings.
At the back of the mouse we can see the SteelSeries logo. The logo, like the scroll wheel and the LED, lights up blue once the mouse is connected.
Underneath we can see the sensor has been placed in the centre of the mouse. The feet slightly protrude above the surface of the mouse to reduce friction.
