Games are highly personal. But one thing we can agree on is when we are faced with something that is, graphically, truly sumptuous.

Few games from 2013 looked as good as Batman Arkham Origins, running at 3840×2160 on an ASUS 4K monitor with DX11 enhanced geometry detail and dynamic shadows.

Turn on the Lens Flares, Light Shafts, Distortion and Reflections with MSAA Anti Aliasing and you have an engine that will show your new hardware in the best possible light.

All well and good, but everything we have just described will take a serious amount of horsepower. Remember, Ultra HD 4K resolutions are extremely demanding of the partnering hardware. This is when that new GTX780 Ti or AMD R9 290/X really comes into play.

While we wouldn't recommend the hot, noisy reference AMD R9 290X solution, Sapphire sorted out all of AMD's mistakes with their high end R9 290X Tri-X OC Edition. The result is a card that retails for less than £500, but can still deliver an average of 41 frames per second in Batman Arkham Origins at Ultra HD 4K.
