Asus TS Mini Windows Home Server (1TB) Review

Our review sample had clearly been doing the rounds for the last 6 months as the box was pretty mangled.

The unit itself is a black piano type finish which is high gloss as you can see from the shots above. Getting a good picture without it reflecting our light tent system was rather difficult! It is also a magnet for dust and marks, ours arrived with fingerprints all over it.

The power button is at the top of the unit on the grill area.

The rear has six USB ports and two eSATA ports which are used to attach external storage. At the bottom there is a gigabit LAN port as well as a Kensington Lock for security. You can not directly attach a monitor to this unit so you need to control the system from a remotely connected machine across the network.

The TS Mini has four feet on the bottom which raise it off the ground for enhanced air circulation.

The Asus TS Mini is supplied with a power adapter, LAN cable, three CD's with software and a quick reference guide as well as a full user manual. The user manual is very well written which will aid many people when setting the system up.
