KitGuru Annual Awards 2013

It is fair to say that almost every slot in this years KitGuru Annual Awards, has been occupied by a new product. Which is what we expect. The king is dead – long live the king, has been the technologist's mantra since the very first computer spluttered into life in the 1940s.

But then we have ‘El Classico'. The product that is so good, that even after its rivals have launch product after product into the same space, they haven't managed to make a clear grab for top spot.

That's the situation we find ourselves in with the winner of the Best Power Supply – Overall category for 2013.

Way back in August 2012, KitGuru Labs took delivery of a very substantial piece of engineering: The Seasonic X-Series 1,250w power supply.

It went into our extensive testing suite and came out with flying colours.

In KitGuru's final analysis, there is always something in the ‘Cons' column – even if it's for balance/spite – we try to find at least one negative.

The Seasonic  X-Series 1,250w PSU is the Terminator of power supplies, it doesn't eat/drink/sleep/rest/make mistakes – it just delivers.

It was the best PSU overall in 2012 – and recaptures the crown in 2013.

One last time, KitGuru's original conclusion still stands, “Immensely powerful from an engineering point of view, quiet in operation and all the time you're aware of its fabulous appearance. Fully modular and extremely efficient, it is rock solid in all environments – it offers 8 PCI-E 6+2 cables for ultimate Crossfire and SLI system builds”.

Read our review, over here.

If you're serious about building your ultimate rig, with the most demanding components in the market, then the Seasonic X-Series 1,250w power supply wins the best Overall power supply of 2013.
