Corsair Flash Survivor GTR 32GB USB Flash Drive review

The Corsair Survivor GTR is available in two flavours – 32gb and 64GB. The one we are looking at today is the smaller of the two, however this would be enough for almost everyone.

The drive arrives in a fire and flames style blister packet with the details of the size and model on the front.

The back details just how tough the product is and a graph to show ‘relative' performance against an unnamed unit.

The package contains the drive itself, as well as a USB extension cable and a dog tag silver chain to hang around your neck. We are not sure its the ideal posing tool, but if you are prone to losing your possessions perhaps its a good fail safe. If you manage to get lucky with any women while wearing it, please send in details.

The drive housing is very well made and feels like it could take considerable abuse during the course of its life. You can get at the actual drive by unscrewing the cap and pulling it out.

Inside the outer chassis is the drive unit which connects either directly to your computer or via the supplied extension cable – this is handy when your computer has USB ports in close proximity and it won't fit.

The image above shows the screw threads to connect the outer protective chassis to the inner unit. This is also water resistant (up to 200meters) with a seal.

The head of the unit contains the rubber collar with the EPDM waterproof seal. This completely seals the internal cavity once the USB section is totally screwed in. If you are going diving with this around your neck it is important to make sure it is sealed correctly. If a shark grabs it, then we would assume you are screwed.
