Asustek Computer has unveiled its new small form-factor graphics card that fits into mini-ITX computer cases. The new Asus GeForce GTX 970 DC Mini sports advanced DirectCU cooling solution and is factory-overclocked. It is probable that the new graphics adapter is the world’s most powerful SFF graphics card.
The Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU Mini is based on Nvidia’s GM204 graphics processor, 4GB GDDR5 memory and custom small form-factor printed-circuit board that is only 17cm long. Thanks to efficient DirectCU cooling system, Asus could boost clock-rate of the graphics processing unit to 1228MHz, which is significantly higher than the default clock-rate of the GeForce GTX 970 recommended by Nvidia.
Just like its predecessors in small form-factor, the Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU Mini graphics card will be slightly more expensive than similar standard form-factor solutions. However, unlike most GeForce GTX 970 graphics boards, this one will fit into SFF PCs that are usually not designed to run video games. The amount of performance the new graphics card from Asustek has should be enough to play virtually all latest games in 1920*1080 resolution. In addition, the new graphics adapter supports all the latest technologies from Nvidia.
Asustek highlighted that the new graphics cards use monolithic chokes with concrete cores that do not buzz under load as well as high-quality capacitors with 50000-hours lifespan.
