Dell introduces 5K display with 5120*2880 resolution

Dell on Monday introduced its first display with ultra-high-definition 5K (5120*2880) resolution. The monitor is designed for professionals and will become available later this year. Those who work with UHD video will clearly take advantage of “extra” pixels.

The Dell UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K Monitor is the world’s first display with ultra HD 5K resolution (5120*2880). Previously only super high-end TV-sets featured 5K resolution. The display sports Dell PremierColor technology and the anti-smudge/anti-reflective edge-to-edge glass design provide true-to-life color accuracy and pristine picture quality for color-critical work. The monitor also comes with 16W integrated Harman Kardon speakers. The company decided not to reveal additional technical details about the 5K display.

The Dell UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K Monitor will costs $2499 and will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.

KitGuru Says: The price of the world’s first 5K display is naturally very high. Still, keeping in mind that Dell positions the monitor for professionals, it may be considered normal.
