Corsair release new TX V2 power supplies

Corsair have announced a new range of Enthusiast Series TX V2 power supplies which are the latest addition to the TX series which has received much critical acclaim.

The new V2 units are being produced in 650W, 750W and 850W capacities to target the broadest possible enthusiast sector, aimed at gamers and high performance enthusiasts. Or as they say “anybody who requires reliable, low-noise power delivery”.

All of the models feature a strong +12V rail and a low noise 140mm fan and Corsair has improved the efficiency from 80 percent to 85 percent. This earns them an 80 Plus Bronze certification with the side effect that the fan will have less work to do under load.

They have revised DC to DC converters to give better voltage regulation and therefore less noise and ripple. The designs are not modular, with Corsair still wanting people to purchase their Professional Series Units for that functionality.

UK pricing has not been confirmed, but we would guess around £80 for the TX650 V2, £100 for the TX750 and £120 for the class leading TX850 V2. Those aren't official prices, but our own estimates based on US listings.

KitGuru says: reviews of these products will be forthcoming.
