Multiplay i42 almost sold out

The world's leading LAN gaming organisation, Multiplay, has almost sold out its Easter Bank Holiday event for this year. So how many gamers does it take to make the best LAN party in the UK? KitGuru pitches a tent and looks inside.

Newbury race course is nestled in the beautiful British countryside, just 10 minutes drive from the M4, but half a world away.

Three times a year, this peaceful venue is invaded by a huge mob, armed with ambition, PCs and a wealth of virtual weapons.

With tens of thousands of pounds in prize money up for grabs, Multiplay's i-series has a serious side, but – mostly – it's about community.

At i41, everyone was talking about Black Ops.

The big attraction at i42 this year will be Crysis 2 – and the world's first major competitive tournament.

Full details are available at www.multiplay.co.uk and, if you have any time free over that Bank Holiday, we'd encourage you to pop down and see the grand-daddy of all LANs in action.

KitGuru says: LAN gaming, face-to-face with your foe IS the way it's meant to be played – so get in the game
