Samsung expected to reveal Galaxy Note 3 on September 4th

While the ‘bigger is better' philosophy, at least in terms of screen size, has been present in the smartphone industry for a few years now, it has become much more prevalent since the release of the original Samsung Galaxy Note. Since the original Note, we have seen the Note 2 in a number of flavours (including LTE), which have sold pretty well.

It is almost time for Samsung to refresh this range once again with the Galaxy Note 3 which is going to be revealed on the 4th of September.

The success of the Note range came as quite a surprise to many in the industry, with millions of devices being sold. In fact, back at the end of 2012 we reported that the Galaxy Note II had sold over 5 million units in the first 2 months of being on sale!

It seems that a number of manufacturers have seen the success that Samsung have achieved with this range of devices and decided to supplement their ranges with a ‘phablet'.  We have recently seen leaked images strewn across the internet of enlarged HTC One and Sony Xperia models, so we expect to see more competition in this particular segment over the next year.

There are a number of rumors flying around regarding the specification of the latest Note. We expect that the screen will be a 1080P model which comes in at around 5.7 inches, so not to draw too many sales from the even larger Galaxy Mega (at 5.8 and 6.3 inches).

KitGuru says: The question on our minds is 5.5″ going to be enough to satisfy all users!
