Vodafone to Launch 4G Service on August 29th

Vodafone has announced that its 4G services will start rolling out on August 29th to London customers, and by the year's end to twelve other cities.

The move sees Vodafone's roll-out date coinciding with that set by competitor O2. But the British telecommunications giant could be hoping to install its widespread coverage to twelve more cities before O2 gives it to additional areas.

At present, the twelve cities set to receive Vodafone's 4G services by the end of the year are; Birmingham, Bradford, Coventry, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Sheffield. The company has said that it will bring indoor 4G coverage to 98% of the UK population over the coming years.

Vodafone-4G

Available from August 12th, Vodafone's new Red 4G-ready plans will include subscriptions to either Spotify Premium or Sky Sports Mobile TV for up to the contract's 24-month duration.

Vodafone has confirmed that its 4G-ready plans will start from £26 per month for SIM only users, or £34 per month with a 4G-capable handset.
