iPhone 6 plus handsets are bending in people’s pockets

Apple seems to have a pretty big problem on its hands as iPhone 6 Plus users are reporting that their handsets are bending in their front pockets. The problem seems to occur when sitting down for a period of time with the phone in pocket, meaning that this could happen while driving, eating dinner or even watching a movie.

The issue first came to light on the MacRumours forums, where one user posted an image of his slightly bent iPhone after leaving it in his front suit trouser pocket all day while attending a wedding. The bend isn't all that extreme and the phone is still useable, but this does seem to be turning in to a widespread problem:

Unbox Therapy posted a video last night showing off just how extremely the iPhone 6 Plus can bend under physical force.

He did a follow up Galaxy Note 3 test to see if this has been an underlying problem in all large phones. However, the Galaxy Note 3 did not bend to the same extent as the iPhone.

Apple has yet to officially comment on the problem and may not even have a fix lined up. Could this be a deal breaker for iPhone 6 Plus buyers? I doubt users are going to want to constantly worry about accidentally bending their phone just by carrying it around in a pocket.

KitGuru Says: The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are designed to closely resemble the new iPads, which are also capable of bending, although not as many users come across this problem with their tablets. Have any of you guys come across a bent iPhone 6 or 6 Plus?
