Anonymous targets Justin Bieber for wearing Guy Fawkes mask

Internet aficionados collective Anonymous has made Justin Bieber their latest target following press reports that he was seen wearing the now iconic Guy Fawkes mask.

No response from Justin so far, but we are sure his fans will be thrilled to hear about Anonymous' plans.

In response, a Facebook event has been created with the tag #OPButtHurtForBieber. Whilst the page has not seen much traction thus far, the creator left this message:

“Greetings citizens of the world we are Anonymous!
It has come to are attention that Justin Bieber has made mockery of anonymous
we now unite and make it known to justin that anonymous are not to be taken lightly

faze one
flood his twitter and facebook
We Are Anonymous
We Do Not Forgive
We Do Not Forget
Expect US!”

It remains to be seen if anything will actually happen. In the past such declarations have been minor nuisances to some and outright disasters to others. It is also worth noting the Anonymous News Feed Facebook group was only created on 21 May 2013 and we could not verify its authenticity.

Update 04-08-2013: It appears a very small group of users has begun posting a combination of pictures depicting gore and images mocking the teen star. So far, it does appear this one can be classified as harmless.

KitGuru says: Anonymous used to be a name that struck fear into the hearts of those they targeted but we think devoted Bieber fans may prove to be a formidable foe.
