Sharkoon launches SKILLER SGH3 gaming headset with included sound card

Sharkoon has placed emphasis on long gaming sessions in recent years, introducing its SKILLER SGS2 gaming chairs built to be comfortable hours into a single session. This focus has since been carried over to the newly announced SKILLER SGH3 gaming headset, packing premium features into a €60 price tag.

Packing in two “professional” 53mm drivers and an external USB-based sound card, the SKILLER SGH3 is built to allow users to cycle between preset equalisers without the need for software. Using the companion software will, however, grant owners an additional three virtual sound modes, balanced around music, film and games.

When gaming, players can make use of the flexible omnidirectional detachable microphone, complete with an added windshield. “The straightforward design, detachable microphone and modular cable connections should also make the headset attractive for mobile use,” Sharkoon states in its press release.

Fortunately, the SKILLER SGH3 boasts a wide range of compatibility, with its TRRS stereo jack connecting seamlessly to smartphones, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, as well as notebooks and ultrabooks. The cable measures in at a length of 110cm, but can be extended with an included cable for a total length of 260cm.

The SKILLER SGH3 comes equipped with particularly comfortable ear pads, which enclose the ears with a soft cover material that supposedly dampens ambient noise. This padding is built to provide the wearer with a secure fit, while optimised for long periods of use.

The Sharkoon SKILLER SGH3 stereo gaming headset, with included USB sound card, is now available from selected retailers for a suggested retail price of €59.90.

KitGuru Says:  Admittedly, the need for a dedicated sound card is lessening as on-board sound built within motherboards tend to do the job fantastically. Still, it doesn’t look to have added much cost on to the SKILLER SGH3 and it provides a handful of on-the-fly controls for users to play about with. Does the Sharkoon SKILLER SGH3 interest you?
