Now let’s look at our graphics card results. I’ve got Dominic’s results from his RTX 3070 Ti review here just to see where our card places in comparison to the RTX 3070 Founder’s Edition that also feature on the chart. Bear in mind the test systems are different so again, like the CPU results, this isn’t a direct comparison but gives us a general idea of performance.
3DMark Time Spy saw the MSI Ventus just fall short on graphics performance compared to the Founder’s Edition with almost 500 points less.
3DMark Fire Strike also shows the same drop in performance compared to the Founder’s Edition, but the Ventus is of course still beating out the 3060 Ti.
3DMark Fire Strike Ultra saw the same drop compared to the Founder’s Card too but overall, for a demanding test that’s a good result.
Now let’s move onto some real-world gaming examples. I tested at both 1080p and 1440p with the highest presets available with any adaptive resolution scaling turned off, any DLSS & raytracing and v-sync off too. All games were installed on the Corsair MP600 Core SSD.
Forza Horizon 5 saw us hit 112FPS average and 93FPS for the 1% low at 1080p, and still performs well at 1440p, offering 92fps average and 81FPS on the 1% low. As always, my personal preference is to take a performance hit and play at 1440p.
Gears 5 held up well almost getting 140fps at 1080p and is not too far behind at 1440p too.
The Division 2 is usually quite a tough one on GPUs but at 1080p we got a really playable result but you can see it starts to struggle in 1440p, particularly with the 1% lows.
Resident Evil 2 Remake really was a breeze for our 3070 pushing close to 250 FPS at 1080p and a respectable 169FPS up at 1440p. That’s excellent, but still to be expected really as this game isn’t as demanding as others.
Now a game that is demanding is of course Shadow of the Tomb Raider, where we only just fall short of 150 FPS at 1080p but keep above 100FPS on average at 1440p.
Lastly, our final game was DOOM Eternal, and as you’re probably expecting we saw excellent performance here, offering average performance over 230FPS at 1080p and just shy of 200FPS at 1440p.
