Star Wars: Battlefront II beta details appear online

DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront II is heading our way in just a couple of months time and as with most major games from EA these days, there will be a beta test. This week, details about the Battlefront II beta came to light, with dates for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We also know what content we'll have access to as part of the 16GB download.

According to a leak over on Reddit from user ‘Some_Info', the Battlefront II beta will kick off on the 6th of October and end on the 9th of October. The final game will then be releasing on the 17th of November, though those with EA Access will likely get some form of early access or additional trial period.

Content-wise, the Battlefront II beta will include several maps and game modes. For the Galactic Assault 40-player mode, you will be able to see the map ‘Theed'. We will get a chance to try out the 24-player Space Battle game mode on the map ‘Fondor'. Finally, we will also get to play through Strike on Takodana.

As for what hero characters you will get to play, we will be getting the same ones we saw at EA Play earlier this year, so prepare for plenty of Darth Maul and Rey appearances. The download size for the beta should sit somewhere between 14GB and 16GB. EA has yet to confirm these details but we should hear more within the next couple of weeks.

KitGuru Says: While I didn't end up enjoying the last Battlefront game as much as I wanted to, from everything we've seen so far, the sequel does seem to be an improvement. Well, aside from the Star Card system. Are any of you guys going to be giving Battlefront II a chance when the beta launches?
